Can any one tell me what steps are required to upgrade from 11.5.3 to 11.5.10, specifically how is the data moved to the higher version. Is it the same way as if you are importing from legacy or is it handled in a different way.

In the asset workbench, in the asset type select the LOV 'expensed". This will allow you to track all assets which have been expensed or operating lease assets. Once the LOV has been selected no dep will be computed and the asset will be tracked

How is the functionality of R12 different from 11I?

The balancing segment refers to the company for which all debits should equal the credits. Hence the name Balancing segment
