R12 quit the installation?

Post by jos »

Hi,

I did try to install R12. But it is quit the installation.
The pre-install step completed with all green. Then started Bootstrap step, the installation quit after Bootstrap completed 100%. There is no error message.

I installed the prerequisite: Windows Server Ent 2003 +SP2, VC++ (8) 2005, MKS 9.2, gnumake 3.8.1. RAM 720 MB.

What could be the problem?

Then I try to install 11.5.10.2 in this same system, it is working. Still the R12 is not working. Why?

Thanks,

Pl check,

1- Your RAM is enough? << if it is 720MB then it is low
2- Media is not damaged?
3- Any issue with computer IO?
4- Any bad sector on your Hard Disk?

Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for the answer.

Still the problem not yet solved.

I did try with two version of R12. Both of them quit after boot strapping stage 100%.

My hard disk is new 500 GB, Pentium 4 1.80 GHZ, SD RAM 720. Floppy drive port not working.

I try to install R12 under VMware 5.0.0. Is it make any problem?

Thanks ,

Jos.

Hi,

Thank you for the answer.

The RAM incresed to 1 GB.

I installed the R12 in VMWare workstation 5.0.0 and I upgraded to vmware version 6. In the both version creating an error log file in the /rapidwiz folder, first few lines only pasted here:

#
# An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:
#
# Internal Error (4E4D4554484F440E4350500521), pid=2968, tid=3680
#
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.5.0_04-b05 mixed mode)

Do you know the solution?

Jo.

CMIIW, I still think you don't have enough RAM though you have increased it to 1 GB. You might want to try 2 GB or more.

Hi jos,

Following is the minimum requirement:
RAM-->2GB
CPU-->2.4GH or above
HDD-->160GB

You can now understand that how much u r running short off the resources as you also have the requirement of using vmware.

regards,
UNA
