I am new into Oracle family as such, if you can please help it will
be great, I just started to learn I need your professional
assistance. I am NOT learning to be a dba but a Techno/Functional Consultant, this installation is for my home practice sessions.
Your Version 1.0 - Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2 installation on Linux AS 4.0 has enabled me to installed the same on Linux ES 4.0.
My needs are as follows:-
1> Is there any difference if the OS is ES 4.0 installation pre-requisites?
I did what your document instructed for AS-4. ( installed without a hitch)
I am unable to find help / documents like yours for the following.
2> I need to setup users and assign roles & responsibilites - What are the steps to be done on the server side and on my desktop. The desktop OS is XP-pro.
3> By the way, I have installed the Vision demo installation part not the
new Database. Will I be able to practice Financials modules GL, AP, AR, PO, OM etc.
4> I need only these modules on my client machine not the all the modules.
5> I rebooted my server now when I try to access the application I get the following error message. http//localhost:8000/ ( an error occured when try to connect to http://localhost:8000

1> The difference I know is the AS is high scalled like supports more than one processors etc rest is same. So installation should have same steps.

2> Please download another document of GL and get information of creating users and assigning responsibilities to it.

3> Vision is preconfigured and good to practice. If you download the GL tutorial it was written by using vision instance.

4> When you select vision I think all modules are installed so don't worry.

5> You need to start the services manually by default these are not automatic.

Thanks
