Insight in Oracle 11i implementation project.

Post by akumar.oracle »

Hi
I am trying to understand oracle 11i implementation stages, task allocation (who does what in implementation project) and phases.

I hear from people who are working in oracle implementation projects terms like BAU = Business As Usual.

I got AIM 3.0. It would be great effort if someone who is already working in implementation project gives some feedback on this..

like when a bid is won by a company like wipro for 11i implementation project of pharmaceutical company say for example "Novartis Pharmaceuticals " which is a Switzerland company with presence in usa, canada, australia.....

from my limited knowledge i know for each country bid is carried out. and more than one consultant company work on one country project.
like in this example not only wipro will be working on say canada project but some consultant from other companies (CSS, jenpact...) would be there too.

Here i don't understand how they (other consultant company) get into the project when wipro won the bid?

I understand though client company eg "Norvatis canada" would have some contractors.

does that mean even after winning, client (Norvatis) select more than one company who work on that project? if that is the case what do they look for when deciding?

second question: what is the hierarchy of people involved in a project...
like implementation lead, project leader, tech lead?

who reports to who?

and third question: what terms are used in real world for different stages of oracle 11i implementation project?

I heard yesterday someone saying now the project is finished it time for BAU = Business As Usual?

And 4th question: What does implementation team hand over to the support team?

The last question: is there any book which shows some real example to understand this structure?

Please do add your valuable comments.

thankyou

Arvin
