Stagging Subinventory, Multiple Bill to and Hold

Hi Folks,

Could anyone pls give me an detailed explanation for the following..


1) Need of Stagging Subinventory?
2) Is Mutliple bill_to possible in the line level?
If yes how?
3) Difference between Automatic Hold and Manual Hold.

1) Need of Stagging Subinventory?
Suppose say u have Manufacturing unti and stock sub inv at hyd and shipping area or port is chennai.you shud maintain chennai as staging area or staging subinv.when product is manufacturing it is kept in hyd stock sub inv.when sales order is rasied item is moved to staging sub inv ie chennai port for shipping purposes


2) Is Mutliple bill_to possible in the line level?
If yes how?
I think not possible. we can have multiple ship to but not multiple bill to.
3) Difference between Automatic Hold and Manual Hold.

Automatic hold are those which get applied on order header or order line automatically
say ex: custumer exceeded credit limit and for that customer we should not ship the items for next sales order raised for that customer.
The order entry may not know the credit limit of that customer.The next sales order for that custmer will automatically goes to hold saying that he had exceeded credit limit.

Manual hold.: these are administative holds .say eg: particular item is spoiled in inv and we dont wont to ship that item for 1 day till it is repaired so we manually apply hold for sales order which are being booked on that item and later we release the hold manually for sales orders on that item.
