Quick Codes - OM Question

Can any one let me the purpose / application for Quick Codes in Order Management?

Purpose of quick codes in Om.

1Quick codes are nothing but Order header or line statuses,delievery statuses etc
for sales order line
like a) entered
b) booked
awaiting shipment,ready to release, picked,shipped,cancelled,closed etc

and similarly delivery statuses

oracle provides seeded quick codes aswell we can add customised quick codes also

If you are adding any custom code and you dont want to hard code values, then you can define Quick codes, with code and values which you want to display on page, The values of the code can be changed latter, with little or no modification in code. It is useful and provides flexibilty to user to define multiple values to a particular attribute based on the criteria needed or defined.
