I think it is a possible scenario.

ATO : We are just doing assembly

Drop shipment: which involves SUPPLIER,SELLER,CUSTOMER

eg: Say we order a system to a small dealer of laptops(seller).
The supplier is Sony .
The supplier sends Laptop to customer directly and sends invoice to seller.Where seller will send invoice to Customer including his profits.
we had already configured the laptop which is an ATO item.

This is a possible scenario and happens in daliy business.

Hope im right

The setup will be complex task.
Since when we configure and order ATO item a wip job gets created.
this wip job should link to Supplier's mfg & inventory (ie the assembly to be done at supplier side ) and not sellers inventory & mfg.
Once the assembly is done by the Supplier he sends it to customer and send invoice to seller.

Rest all same as DROP SHIP. This case is feasible.

Hello,

I have tried the functionality of ATO item Drop shipment.

The only setup that is required is you will have to check the Purchasable and Purchased Flag checked for the Model and also create a Approved Supplier list for the Model item.

Rest all the setup is the same. When you want to do a drop ship just select that line type that has Source Type as External and that would work.. You dont even need to customize the work workflow.

Hope this helps

Hi,

Are you using the Order type which has Source Type as External. And dont check the Model Item Attribute Use Approved Supplier.

When you are running Req Import, incase it fails then it should have some error message.

Can you please check that and let me know the error.
