"Asset Key flexifield" Segments

Post by anjan123 »

Dear Asset Gurus,

We have Operating Unit-1, Operating Unit-2.

In Operating Unit-1, we have 3 segments for Asset key flexifield.

segement-1 is company, segement-2 is Department, Segement -3 is Future.

But in operating -2 we need 4 segements.

Segement -1 is Balancing segemnt

Segement -2 is Department

Segement -3 is Future-1

Segement -4 is Future-2

we are using 2 dif set of books, two dif asset books. One legal entity, One business group.

How i could define different segements for two different operating units.

Thanks & regards

This is basic hardle in ORACLE ASSETS Module.

In FA module, you cannot CANNOT have more than one FLexfield and the Flexfield that you had is applicable at application level.

Having multiple segments is to generate reports only. So, use ASSET KEY FLEXFIELD for that purpose. Difne One SEGMENT in ASSET KEY FLEXFIELD and add all the values to that segment. You can generate reports based on that Flexfield

Hi Friend,

FA module does not support Multi Org Concept???.

Any How Asset Key Flexfield allows you to define asset keys that let you name and group your assets so you do not need an asset number to find them. The asset key is similar to the asset category in that it allows you to group assets. However, the asset key has no financial impact. This flexfield lets you assign the same name to many assets so you can find similar assets. You can provide additional descriptive data to group assets by project or other functional group. You can use this flexfield to track your CIP assets. You use the same setup windows to create your asset key flexfield as you do for your other key flexfields.
