Post by Shashi_k »

Hi,

Can any one tell me how can one implement OM for services oriented companies like banks or after sell maintenance companies
How do they ship the order for service item, for example a hardware engineer services to repair or upgrade your system. How is inventory maintained for such service?

Hi Shahsi ,
i am assuming that these service items will be expense items , please refer to warranty types of service which can
be handled using install base

here is an example:
(N) Orders, Returns > Sales Orders
1. Create a new sales order for Business World
#8722; Customer: Business World (1608)
#8722; Customer PO: Demo-03
2. (T) Line Information
3. Add a sales order line
#8722; Item: WR18533
#8722; Qty: 10
4. (T) Services
#8722; Service Reference Type: ORDER
#8722; Service Order Type: Mixed
Note: this needs to be the same value as the order header ? it drives the list of values for
the service order number
#8722; Service Ref Order Number: enter this order number
#8722; Service Ref Line Number: choose the line with AS54888 on it. (should be 1)
5. (I) Save
Note: The system has automatically updated the Order Line to show that it is a Service
Program for your other line item.
