can any one tell me how to achive good in transit feature in oracle ebs

Hi Yasir

Please note this thread is more aptly suited for Order Management Forum
There are two possible setups.
The first one is available in all versions of 11i. (requires Location and Address to be defined specific to Customer)
The second setup process, which is more advisable, is only available in releases 11.5.9 and further.(requires Regions and Zones to be defined)

Here i have mentioned the first process (which is simple to setup).
Use the following setup process:

1. Set-up the customer ship-to as a location in Inventory Module.
Nav : Inventory responsibility > Set up > Organizations > Locations
2. Enter the Inter-location transit time (say 5days) for a specific ship method
Nav : Inventory responsibility > Set up > Organizations > Inter-
Location transit times
3. Add the internal location to the customer ship to (internal field) on the
customer Form
Nav : Customers > Standard > Query the Customer > Goto the primary
ship-to site > Order Management > Enter the 'Internal Location' here
4. Also specify the ship method here (has to be the same as defined in the
inter-locations)
5.. Run ATP collections.
Nav > Order Mangement > Scheduling > ATP Data Collectio
It needs to be a "Complete Refresh"
Every time that a static setup is changed a Complete Refresh is needed.
6. Add the 'Request Date type' as arrival on the Customer Standard Form.
7. Enter a sales order for that specific 'customer' and 'ship to'
8. Enter the line information...
9. BOOK the order
10. Observe for the 'In-transit Delivery' lead time on the order lines under
Shipping alternative region
