Location Flexfields In Oracle Assets

Hi All,

I have a query on building the location segment in Oracle Assets.

i believe a segment can be dependent upon only independent segment, am i correct in assuming that in the entire location flexfield only segment can be dependent and all other independent.

We are planning to have 7 segment defined.( Region-Country-State-City-Address-Building-Floor). Except Region client expects all other segments to be dependent upon the previous one. Can this be achieved?

Hi,

It is achievable

But for it is recomended that not to use the dependent valueset in any of the key flexifields.

There is one more option of defining all the value sets independent and through combination you can control the same.

Hi,

while creating the value set for region you have to give as independent and for creating value set for other segments you have to change it to dependent
