Distribution sets, F.A, 11i

Post by badry »

I'm now working on oracle assets 11i, within the system setup I found the distribution sets function, and i dont know what doest it mean and what its for.

The Oracle user guide and Help doest not represents its definition, only just how to set it up.

The functionality is same as that of Payables distribution set - Used to save the data entry time and user mistakes.

Ex: There is a computer which is used for company1 (say,70%)and company2 (30%). You can create a distribution set with two lines

Line1 - 70% - Company1 Depreciation account
Line2 - 30% - Company2 Depreciation account

When you define this asset, you can attach this distribution set in the assignments page. When depreciation is calculated, the depreiciation amount will be divided to company1 and company2 according to the percentages.
