If it is a KFF, are you sure you enabled the "Allow Dynamic Inserts" checkbox for the flexfield structure you are using.

For 1) Define an element set that contaings your deductions and enter the value in: Organization screen --> Business Group Classification --> Others button --> SOE setup, bounce the Apache, and then you should see it there.
