First thing is that you should have a proper questionaire for each module. Collect the answers for all the questions and try to map with oracle apps. Prepare the current process understanding document (RD020) and get sign-off from the customer.

Hi

First try to understand the client Business through the following

a) Go through the Client Website
b) Discuss with Key People of client and Project manager to understand the Business of the client and project
c) Go through the Policies and Procedures Document of client
d) Collect the Organization structure and Reporting Structure
e) Try to go through the similar industry websites and understand how the business of your client is different from others. By this, You can suggest some of the best practices followed by their competitors which even your client may not be aware of

Then choose the RD020 Questionnaire and ask only the relevant questionnaire to client

The Biggest Failure in many Implementation is due to the following

a) Lack of Consultant Knowledge to Learn the Business
b) No doubt every Business Needs Software. But whatever software offers will not be the Business requirement or that is what Business has to do.
c) Every ERP has been built with Best Practices. But still every Business Requirements are unique. You need to understand and work on How to configure the system. This is where the thrill and finding alternate solutions makes the quality of a good consultant

To be a successful consultant, first try to understand the client business and read more about the Business and then ask relevant questions to client.

Use the RD020 questionnaire only as a reference point so that you do not miss out anything.RD020 Questionnaire does not become bible for the implementation
