Jinitiator workaround for Linux

Post by otenyop »

Hi,
I have a HP-UX server running Apps. The windows clients can be able to connect to it and launch the forms applet but a linux client cannot lauch the applet. It complains about the java plug in.i've checked oracle and it seems as though there is no jinitiator for linux. is there a workaround for me to lauch the applets on linux so that i can use linux as my client the same way i do with windows?

Regards
Phil

Hi,

You need to install java 1.4 on linux client and create a soft link for mozilla plugins.
steps
1] cd /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/
2] ln -s /a01/oracle/visioncomn/util/java/1.4/j2sdk1.4.2_04/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so ./libjavaplugin_oji.so
3] restart the browser.
