Difference between RA_CUSTOMERS and AR_CUSTOMERS

Can anyone help me to know the difference between RA_CUSTOMERS and AR_CUSTOMERS

AR_CUSTOMERS is not a table. It is a view based on HZ_CUSTOMERS and HZ_PARTIES.

So when you run the customer interface program, HZ_CUSTOMERS table will get updated and those updates will also appear in AR_CUSTOMERS since it is a view.

HZ tables is where all the party information is maintained. In the
old the customer information was stored in RA_CUSTOMERS but now
everything is in party tables. Within each party there is seggregation
on which party is of what type customer, employee, etc.

Can you please tell me why they have moved the data from RA_CUSTOMERS table into party tables?
