10G with Dataguard

Hi to All,

I want to shutdown the production & restart again, the 10g database is in dataguard mode. Should I have to shutdown standby after shutting down the production. Kindly give the positive as early as possible.

Some how it depends on your STDBY DB configuration. If log shipping is optional then it doesn't matter if you bounce back your Primary database. But if you specified as mandatory then it's a different scenario. You need to make sure that last log has been shipped on the STDBY site then you can shutdown your STDBY database.
