Receivables Activities

Define receivables activities to default accounting information for your miscellaneous cash, discounts, finance charges, adjustments, bills receivable, claims, claim investigations, and receipt write-off applications. Activities that you define appear as list of values choices in various Receivables windows

Setting up Write-off Limits:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For the write-off unapplied receipts process, write-off limits must be set up to restrict the amount an user can write off from a single receipt.
There are two limits for write-off.
1- System level limit
2- User level limit
1- System Level Write-off Limits:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the overall system level write-off limit. No users are allowed to
write off receipt balances above the maximum write-off amount defined in the System Options window. This limit is defined in functional currency.

2- User Level Write-off Limits:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Apart from the maximum write-off amount setup in system level, user level limits are setup with "From Amount" and "To Amount" for a given currency. A new document type "Receipt Write-off" is created for this feature. "Reason" field shown in the screen is inactive if the document type "Receipt Write-off" is selected.
Hi,
To define a receivables activity:
1. Navigate to the Receivables Activities window.
2. Enter a Name and Description for this activity. The activity name should not exceed 30 characters.
3. Choose the Type of activity (as Adjustment )you are defining. The GL Account Source defaults to Activity GL Account and the Tax Code Source defaults to None.
4. Indicate how Receivables should derive the accounts for the expense or revenue generated by this activity by specifying a GL Account Source.
Choose one of the following:
Activity GL Account:
Allocate the expense or revenue to the general ledger account that you specify for this Receivables Activity
Set the Approval limits for the User Name and the limit how much the user can do the write off
for example, you have asked for small write off
as a cashier - can do the write off for $.01 to $1000
Now the user can do the write off upto $1000
Thanks
