Create Service Requests Faster

Log a service request (SR) using the new user interface ? it?s up to 15% faster than logging a traditional SR. For up to 40% faster SR creation, try creating an SR from a configuration using Software Configuration Manager.

MetaLink is moving to a new user interface this year. You can test drive the new interface today for creating and updating SRs by clicking on the Software Configuration Manager (SCM) tab on MetaLink (for embedded hyperlink: <b>https://csm.oracle.com/CSP/ui/index.html</b> ), and then selecting the Service Requests tab within SCM. You are not required to provide configurations in order to take advantage of the interface, so today is a great time to experience the personalization and ease of use found in the new interface.

? SR creation can be up to 15% faster in the new user interface and up to 40% faster when created from a configuration using Software Configuration Manager
? Try creating a service request based upon another service request
? Try the ?type ahead? fields to narrow your choices in large drop-down lists
? Access a Knowledge article within the SR creation flow and notice how it has been improved
? Note that existing options for user Profiles or Configurations continue to be available
? View service request details from ?newest to oldest? or ?oldest to newest?
? View previous or next service requests in your list without toggling back to the SR Home page
? Use the SR navigator to pick from your SR list

The new user interface uses Adobe Flash 9. If you don't already have the Flash browser plug-in, you will be prompted to install it when you first visit the Software Configuration Manager tab.
