standard/Average cost of Finished goods

One of our clients make valuation of Finished goods at the month end manually . We are implementing Supply chain over here and pursuing them to adopt standard/Average costing to value finished goods so that to get benefit the ERP system. The Manufacturing phase will be at second stage.
They like to know the industry practice in this regard.
Any one has the names of the sugar industries who follows standard/average cost system for Valuation of FG.?
The examples will be easier to convince them.
