Hi kasante,

Instead of looking in conf_VIS.txt, go to RDBMS ORACLE_HOME (which usually in /db/tech_st/10.2.0/appsutil/) and find an xml file like <SID>_<hostname>.xml.

<SID> = your database ID name
<hostname> = hostname of your server

open that file using an editor and find :
<dbport_oa_var = .......>****x</dbport>

****x = your database port

and your http port will be 8000 + ****x - 1521

Now I assumed that your using standard port pool and you get something like this in your XML file:
<dbport_oa_var = .......>1531</dbport>

then your port pool is 1531 - 1521 = 10 and your http port 8010.

Hope it helps.

Just found the issue: My internet comes via my cable which is a dynamics ip so anytime I start the computer I get new ip which is different from the one in my hostfile. So long as I keep updating the hostfile with the new ip it works.
