Need to know what "Project Accounting" means

Hi all,

I was going through a job ad it said as below:

For this great opportunity you will require:

Oracle E-Business 11i
Core Financials, Purchasing, iProcurement and#8260;or Project Accounting
CRM and#8260;or SCM
Consulting experience an advantage


Now I am trying to figure out Oracle "Project Accounting" module. Please help.

Out of below modules which one is project accounting module?


The Oracle Enterprise Project Management Solution consists of eight products:
? Oracle Project Foundation (PJF)
? Oracle Project Costing (PJC)
? Oracle Project Billing (PJB)
? Oracle Project Resource Management (PJR)
? Oracle Project Management (PJT)
? Oracle Project Collaboration (PJL)
? Oracle Project Portfolio Analysis (PJP)
? Oracle Daily Business Intelligence for Projects (PJI)

Hi Arvind,

All the 8 products you mentioned come under Projects Suite. Out of which Project Accounting contains.

Oracle Project Foundation (PJF)
Oracle Project Costing (PJC)
Oracle Project Billing (PJB)

Please any one correct me if am wrong.

Hi

You are right Mr.Ammar,

The Oracle Projects Suite was first introduced in 1993 as Project Accounting. It consisted of Project Costing and Project Billing.

It has evolved into the current suite of applications which include: Project Foundation; Project Costing; Project Billing; Project management; Project Collaboration; Project Resource Management; and
Project Portfolio Analysis.

Project Contracts, is part of Projects Suite. however with a close look, this is part of the Contracts Suite.

Hi Arvind,

PA is combination of modules as below i describing
1.Project Management - To Define Budgets
2.Project Foundations - To Define Project setups like Implementation options and project templetes
3.Project Costing- To costing setups
4.Project billing- To Define Billling setups
Aprat from this modules you should knowledge on
GL,AP,AR,PO,HRMS,Inventory,WIP.
