Impact analysis of a patch - From Funtional perspe

Post by benny »

Hi Members, Moderators and Admin,

Could any one explain how can we do an Impact analysis of a patch from a Functional perspective.

It would be great if you can explain how a person with limited technical knowledge can see the impact a patch could cause if applied.

We could take patch 5339770 for an example.

I'm sure this topic would help many of the functional consultants as we face this situation for sure.

Hello.

It seems easy to know wath will happen after aplying patch 5339770.

Before:
When a user creates an adjustment that is over their limit, warning
"APP-AR-11368: Warning: Pending adjustments exist for this transaction" will
perpetually pop-up for each new adjustment that were entered.
No matter that the subsequent adjustments are within the approval limits.

After:
This warning appears once before commit.

Normally, the patches readme files contain a detailed explanation of what changes will take place after apllying them.
