Urgent - Dont want to be my COGS gets effected

Dear Mentors,

I have a client Requirement where we are mapping their business using Sales Order Process. Can someone please guide me in which cases the COGS doesnt get effected in SO cycle.

Do i need to use some other line flow or We need to go for Customization?

Generally, service type sales orders (if service module is not implemented) will have "Bill Only Lines". There will not be any shipment for these orders (No material is shipped to the customer). If there are no shipments, then there will not be COGS.
