Hi

Customer and Supplier data are shared across set of books, if you have multiple set of books in a single Instance (i.e) Single Database and Server

Customer Site and Supplier Site are Org specific which is for the Operating unit inturn which is attached to that particular set of books.

Global Customer and Supplier means you have Business Dealings with them across Multiple Set of Books spanning more than one geographical Location. For Example, HP has Business Relationship with CISCO Systems worldwide in US, EMEA and ASIA then it is called a Global Customer.

If HP is using Oracle Applications and has Multiple Set of Books in Single Server to meet their requirement worldwide they can use the Same Customer Number throughout worldwide, hence it is called Global Customer.

Hope this helps
