YEAR-END ENCUMBRANCE CARRY FORWARD

Post by amirjaved »

Dear All,

We have the following problems in the period after the Budget 2008 Upload in January 2008:

1. When the encumbrance of outstanding PRs & POs of 2007 are released in 2008 it reduces the encumbrance of 2008 instead of 2007, consequently the balance of encumbrance of 2008 becomes negative, hence making more funds available for utilization which should not be the case. This was the reason why we had thought of moving the encumbrances of 2007 along with associated budget to 2008.

2. When we tried to carrying forward the encumbrances of outstanding PRs & POs of 2007 to Budget year 2008, the system did not allow us.

3. There are differences in encumbrance amounts in "Encumbrance Trial Balance Report" and in "Fund Available Window" in the Oracle.

4. We are also not sure whether the 2007 outstanding encumbrances are automatically posted or have
to be posted at the end of the period/year.

We would really appreciate if anyone suggest us to resolve the above issues.

If anyone have any helpful material regarding this issue, kindly feel free to email me on amirjaved79@gmail.com
