Prakash,

Auto Accounting is a feature in AR that is used to pick the GL accounts like Receivable,Revenue, Tax etc automatically. There are various sources available to pick these accounts. To pick Receivable account one can use Transaction Type or Customer Site or Sales Person, similarly Revenue account can be picked up from Transaction type or from Item Definition.Hence when you create a transaction AR the relevant accounts will default from the sources. These are all default acccounts only and you can change the accounts if required. You can also Customize the Work flow to generate the GL Accounts.

To add to what is said above.

Suppose you create Invoices using Auto-Invoice, then auto-accounting plays vital role. If you do not populate any values for Accounting segment in Distribution interface tables, then the system automatically deribes the accounting segment from the auto-accounting rules else the system will pick up the values you have provided in the distributions interface table.

I have one doubt on that.

we are already set up auto accounting. then what is the use of accounting generator in AR? we will use both or else one only?
