Fixed assets prorate convention

Fixed assets prorate convention

i need to calculate depreciation from date in service to end of the period. For example, A is an asset i placed in service 15-jan-08, now, i want to calculate depreciation from 15-jan-08 to end of period (31-jan-08). Please help me out.
