The answer is no but you can assign a master inventory organization to multiple Inventory organizations . Please look at these metalink notes
Subject: How do you setup Purchasings Inventory Organization? Shared HR.
Doc ID: Note:116753.1
Subject: Inventory Organization Setup Steps
Doc ID: Note:76440.1
Organization Setup Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ
Doc ID: Note:109665.1
Organization Setup Trouble Shooting Documentation
Doc ID: Note:109668.1
Oracle Inventory Organizations - FAQ
Doc ID: Note:268244.

Also refer to Chapter -4 of the Inventory User guide (11.5.10)

If you are talking about ?Inventory Organization ? under Organization Classification
(Navigation Inventory -> Setup-> Organizations) , you can associate only one Inventory Organization to an Operating Unit . In the Accounting Information Tab ? need to enter the Set of Books ,Legal entity and the operating Unit . Here it is one to one relation ship
( Navigation :Others _>Additional Organization Information -> Accounting Information )

This ?Inventory Organization? is one of the classifications of the ? Business Organization ? in Multi Org Architecture .Classification are Business Group, Legal Entity , Operating Unit , Inventory Organization .

If you are talking about the Item Master Organization under Organization Classification ? Inventory Organization-> - Inventory Information -> Inventory Parameters -> Item Master Organization , Item Master Organization is part of Inventory Parameters . You can associate the Item Master Organization to ?N? number of Inventory organization ( In the First paragraph) and its associated Operating Units.

Standard Industry Practice : Even if you have only one operating unit , You define 2 Inventory Organizations and one will be setup as your Master Inventory Org and in the 2nd Inventory Org , you will enter the Item Master Organization of the First one .

An inventory organization is an organization for which you track inventory transactions and on-hand balances and that manufactures or distributes parts and products.

If you need more info , Please let me know
