Post by omerjaved100 »

Any one knows the solution to build a protection layer on database that only Specified IP Addresses can connect to the database?

Environment:
9i database (Protection to be applied)
Clients: 8i or 9i

Here is a very userful link explaining database control methods,

http://www.lc.leidenuniv.nl/awcourse/or ... s.htm#3114

For ERP you should read metalink notes,
Best Practices for Securing Oracle E-Business Suite (Note 189367.1)
E-Business Suite Recommended Set Up for Client/Server Products (Note 277535.1)

Secondly your application(s) may be using same database user name so how you are interested to restrict the user from one IP?
