PROBLEM WITH OF 11.5 INSTLLATION

We are isntalling the oracle application on widnows xp/server with MKSnt and VC inlcuding service packs.

We have installed on non branded Corec2duo MACHINE with sata harddrive for test purposes. After the successful install, we restart the system and reach to login screen. Sometimes we get access to menu after instllation of j-initiater. AFter this system goes slience and performs no action while the status bar shows that is is running application.dat and times shows that is 9000 port is not accessable.

What oracle recommends about sata / ide hard disks
I would appreciate if someone can guide me in this regard.
