Hi,

For Lot controlled item you can enable Lot Attribute field for keeping extra information like you have at INV level.

But i am not sure whether your items are really Lot enable item.

Hi,

You can also chek for serial control items with serial attribute (DFF)
to capture your information

hi edmattu..

Items will be treat as descrete item, i dont know (CMIIW) can we use Lot controll side by side with serial control?

i would like to use any standard field, since it will be use to track from report.

using DFF's will cost us with report customisation, and we dont have that resources yet.

please eleborate more on Lot/serial control, thank you :-)

Hi,

I don't know about which base apps report (without customized)you want to see for such extra information.

Lot or Serial control can be for discrete item also.

If you want to control lot or serial then in Inventory tab > Lot conrol>set Full control then lot prefix and starting number. also serial control can also be enable in that form (For you I think Serial control will be easy which also may use as VIN number).
This can be either Master level or organization lavel.

then during receiving the item you can generate serial and enter the other extra information as you have. So every time you receive an item with different information/like color, engine etc.

Hope this will help.
