What the feature that will lose by handle the proj

Post by moataz_cis@hotmail.com »

My Dear ,
What the feature that will lose by handle the project as segment in the COA?
The case: the Client that we has implement oracle for him is Project industry business
But they did not buy Project module, they only implement (GL, AP, AR, CE, FA, Purchasing)
We proposed to add Project as separated segments in the COA
EX: (client accounting flexfields)
(Company, Cost Center, account, Project)
Is this solution will solve the issue or there are problems that will appear in the future And what the nature of the problem

Thanks

As I understand, you capture the project code in the COA for the project expenses and project related revenues without project module implemented.

You should now decide what is the exact requirement with respect to projects. If you just want to capture the overall expenses and revenues alone, you don't need project module.

Project module gives you lot of details like project types, resource details, time spent on the projects, billing information, budget control, etc.
