Hello Venkatesh.

Depending on the subledger, the effective date on the GL journal entries can be, for example:

-AR Transactions -> GL Date (not the Transaction Date)
-AP Payments -> Payment Date
-AP Invoice Distributions -> GL Date

It also depends on the journal summarization value. In case of summarize by GL period, the GL date will the last date of the period.

Thanks guys..

need some more information ..

for some of ap/ar/fa transacitons gl effective date is defalting to first day or last day of period, so can you tell me for what type of transacitons the date will be default like that?

my second question is - Please confirm the below

if we are transfering the subledger data in detail mode - gl effective date will pick up from invoice/payment/receipt gl date.

if we are transfering the subledger data in summary mode - how the effective date functionality will work?

In the case of detail transfer, the transaction GL date (distribution line GL date, if applicable) will be considered as GL effective date.

In the case of summary by GL period, it will be the last date of the period.

In the case of summary by GL date, the transactions will be grouped based on the transaction GL date.

The above is not applicable to average balancing concept.

Thanks Sarvanan..

sorry to ask you some more doubts..

the above 3 rules hold good for any modules or it will change by module wise..

For some trx. the efffective date will be the first day of period in our instance & for some trx. last day of the period..

Please clarify

Thanks,

1. What is the version?
2. In which application you are getting the GL date as first date?
3. What is the transfer level? Summary or detail?

Hi Sarvanan,

we are in 11.5.10.2.

We are getting the first day of the period for the following type of categories.

Eg: Receipt writeoff, Payment void trx. etc

we are transfering the transaction in detail mode from ap/ar module.

Thanks in advance,
Venkatesh
