Sales Order Line Shipment Question

Post by ordy1984 »

hi all ,

i have a sales order contain one line of quantity 99999 , i save it , Book it, and want to ship it

NOTE :- the on hand quantity for the item in SO line is 24720 and the reserved is 0 .

when i open the shipping transaction form and query by sales order number which created later i found that the system split my line to 6 lines

split the on hand quantity to 5 lines and one line for BackOrder

my question is why the system split the line to 5 lines although the total of 5 lines = the on hand quantity , why not to ship it in one line ?

urgent please

thanks

Hi,

I think the system did that because ur total available qty of 24720 is in multiple lots (probably in 5 different lots) and it created the sixth line for the backorderd qty which is the remaining 75279 which, is not available for transaction.

Hope it helps.

Regards,

Faisal.

Hi,

The shipping is through 4 rules whenever Available qty is lesser than Shippable qty.
1.release rule
2.rel seq rule.
3.grouping rule.
4.Pick rule.
System splits it to 6 lines according to the ssd and destination, fifo, lifo what you have defined in these rules. Finally lines will be through where you have sufficient qty rest will backordered.

Thanks,
Ram.
