Pre Sales Engineer/Solution Architect
San Francisco, CA
Salary: $110k - $140k
Bonus: $38500.00
Travel: 40%


Our client is looking for a Pre Sales Engineer/Solution Architect to provide technical pre-sales support. Come join diverse culture at a growing company focused on the latest technology!

Responsibilities:
* Selling the key capabilities and benefits of the Companies products through presentations, demonstrations and positioning competitive strengths and differentiators.
* Building proof-of-concept plans based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the solution, which also requires some rapid prototyping.
* Provide support on customer product evaluations through various stages in the sales cycle and once accounts are won, provide overall technical account management (as well as responding to RFP?s and RFI?s).


Requirements:
* Proven enterprise technology pre-sales experience is essential
* Proven ability and experience selling enterprise grade software solutions with average 6-9 month sales cycles.
* Ability to communicate with C-Level executives addressing specific business needs with a technology solution
* Ability to grasp new technologies, is a fast learner and self-starter
* Hands-on experience working with software solutions in the database management or data warehousing markets and solid understanding of the various technologies, overall market landscape, benefits and challenges.
* Good SQL skills (ability to rewrite customer SQL queries), overall database knowledge and good Unix command-line skills
* Collaboratively work with internal technical team and customers to understand & help architect Big Data environments which may be demonstrated by expertise with ODS, DW and data marts.
* Understand Big Data technologies and architectures including Hadoop and MapReduce in addition to scalable architectures in large multi terabyte and petabyte environments.
* Familiarity with massively parallel processing (MPP) systems and a solid technical understanding of data loading, compression, aggregation, queries etc.
* Good understanding of common server and storage architectures
* Understanding of business intelligence tools including; installing, configuring, setup, data loading is a bonus.
* Combination of tech start-up and big company experience is a plus
* Demonstrated database technical understanding.
* Post sales experience (implementations etc) is a bonus but not required
* Local candidates preferred
