10g client problem

Hi friends

I have a error for oracle 10g.

The problem when i am configuring the Oracle Net configurant assistant for client to connect the following error is coming..

<b>Connecting...ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor
The test did not succeed.</b>
So any one pls rectify the problem .

The Problem is

Connecting...ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor
The test did not succeed.

OS is Windows XP
Database is 10g

TNS Ping is used for checking the Problem In TNSNAMES.ORA

whenever you face the error ORA-12514 most probably it is due to problem in your oracle Home or TNS names Configuration Its A basic measure to check your service name and connection descriptions

user tnsping in you database home(where in network/Net80 folder your tnsnames.ora exists)
ORA-12514: TNS: listener could not resolve SERVICE_NAME
