Hi
Post Implementation support refers to the following
At the time of mplementing the solution you follow the Project Management methodolgy and cover everything as per Project plan and the project gets signed off and the Implementer goes away or they thmselves will do the Post Implementation support if the contract stipulates that
You will come across lot of issues after a set up is completed and the software is put into use.
Following are examples of what can comprise of post implementation support
a) Set up changes to suit Business Requirement
b) Data Corruption Issues
c) Report Modification or New Report creation
d) performance Issues
e) Functionality changes
f) New Business Process (E.g Initially when Software is implemented Approved Supplier functionality is not used. Now if you want to use that functionality, then it becomes a Post Implementation support
g) Forwarding the WF notifications in the absence of concerned person for approval is not available
h) New User Creation and assignment of Responsibility
i) problems in Data Loading and correcting those issues
You cannot have 100% perfect Implementation whatever good Project Plan you have and there will be Gaps which need to be filled up in Post Implementation support
Hope this helps
