HD not reconized while installed Enterprise Linux

Hi there,
I have a problem... while working on one of the functional documents the screen froze i restarted it and it again froze... then i tried to install Enterprise linux again it wont recognize my hard disk.. then i tried again with second hard disk where i installed another copy of oracle 11i... it did same there too...
I pulled out that hard disk(SATA) and tried on another PC it is giving same problem...
I cant reinstall any operating system.. it wont detect my hard disk...
What should i do? is there some kinda virus? how to fix that?
please help
one hard disk is segate and another one is samsung both SATA
right now i am using P5N73-AM ASUS mother board..
RAM is 2 GB...
it all started after i installed another 2 GB (previously i had 1GB DDR2 RAM)
i pulled 1GB out (thinking it might not be compatible) but the issue remain same....
