Validation of days worked

Asslam-o-alaikum
I am trying to create a validation fast formula to validate number of days worked in a month. Element name is MONTHLY_ATTENDANCE Input value name is DAYS_WORKED. So fast formula should validate the DAYS_WORKED with the days in selected payroll period, if period is Feb for example then valid attendance should be from 0 to 28 or 29. I am having problem in getting days in selected payroll period. How to calculate the days ?
