security between two GL responsabilities

Post by scorpion09 »

Hi
we've 2 GL responsabilities, every responsability is assigned to a security rules, that not allow user to view and enter other user values (lines), but they can post journals of each other.
what we should do to avoid that user post journal of another user????????[?]

To my knowledge, there is no standard feature available to satisfy your requirement.

You may think of personalization/customization to achieve this (if it is really required). But you should decide on the logic to seperate the journals for each responsibility.

You can also disable 'Posting' in the current responsiblities and create a new reponsibility for 'posting' alone (centralization-if possible).

Hi
the problem that we've 13 organisation, every oraganisation have no access to other organisations accounting, in AP and AR,in GL all organisations are attached to the same set of book.
so in GL they can post journals of each others, all journal are separated with different categories, and names , but there always mistakes of posting.

Hello.

There a way (at least one) to do that using forms personalization. If the user navigates to Journals/Post, queries his journals and finds them, then he is able to post. If he queried the wrong jounals (not created by him) then the form will be empty until he finds only the journals that were created by him.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Just a suggestion that every organization (13) should not be allow for posting and a manager on the top of them should be doing so as this is also a responsibility which should be managed. So posting should be revoked from all except one on top of all those. As in your case as SOB is single so one manager should be responsible of posting. tks
