Can any one tell me when do we need to have more than one Business groups(BG)?

Hi
You need to have multiple BG under following situations
a) You have operations in more than one country and you are running payroll separately for both countries (i.e) the Appointment order and salary is paid in different currencies
b) Employees are attached to a Business Group. So in the above case if you have operations in US and India. Then if an Indian Employee is deputed to US , You need to have a Multiple Business Groups.
c) Third if one employee say CEO of Indian Company is reporting to US CEO which is a different business Group, then you need to have different Position hierarchies to set the Reporting hierarchies. Using HR: Cross Business Group Profile option you can achieve this functionality
<u><b>IMP NOTE:</b></u> Once A Business Group is set up and Transactions are created then it cannot be migrated to another Business Group. So the set up of BG is very critical for any Business
