Purpose of Line_type in purchasing??

Hi Folks,

GoodDay, Please let me know what is the purpose of line_type in purchasing (while doing quotation upload). I mean to say how can we use that line_type..
(Table: PO_LINE_TYPE, Schema: APPS)

Line type is used to distinguish between amount and quantity based PO lines so Oracle can perfomr the processing accordingly.
