Taxation Error in AP R12 .

Hi Everyone ,

I'd like to know if any one of you had encountered this error while creating an (Payables) invoice in R12 , specially when you click on distribution tab after entering line items.

This is how the error goes " APP-SQLAP-97731: The system could not generate distributions because tax calculation failed due to the following error : An unexpected error has occured . Please contact the system administrator ".

I have created an SR and I was told to download

6141000 - Oracle E-Business Suite 12.0.3 Release Update Pack (RUP3)


Then later upon constant research , I was told to apply this patch as well
PATCH 6975868.

However it still gives us the same error message upon clicking on distribution tab . I am currently in the test instance implementing R12 Financial modules for the first time .

Is there any one who ran into the similar issue or do you know any thing of this sort out of your experience .

This is getting really critical at the moment and hindering our implementation progress , I request the readers to please reply with a potential trouble shooting steps or guidance .

Hi Kareem,

I had faced similar issue for which we have even raised a TAR. we were then On R12 (12.0.0) and when we got it upgraded to RUP5 it got resolved. But when I created a complete new organization setup on the same 1instance 12.0.0 instance it was working fine only the problem with Vision Group. Either go for upgradation to RUP4 or create your own new organization setup to test the TAX.

Thank you for your valuable response . Also , I wanted to let you know that i have not implemented TAX at all in the vision instance and this is happening in a new organization set up .

Any thoughts or comments , please let me know . I was just wondering if we could have a telephonic conversation as our implementation is stuck on this since 10 days now . Could you go over with my set ups in a cursory fashion so that I'd know that it is not a problem due to my set up .

Also we are on RUP5 now . Do you want us to try creating the whole set up on Test instance and try ?
