Setting envronmental Variables for Dbase & Applica

Post by babasoji »

Pls. can you enlightened me about how to set envrmtal variables for database and oracle rel 11i installation. This is what i got from the document from admin.

Set Environmental Vraiables
$ cd/uo1/oracle/visdb/9.2.0
$. ./VIS_vision.env

$ echo $ORACLE_HOME
/uo1/oracle/visdb/9.2.0

This is not very clear, since i think there should be a path and a value. in setting envrmtal var. for java we say

PATH Values
JAVA_HOME C:\j2sdk_1_4_2_07

Thanks for your assistance.

I mean JAVA_HOME will be under PATH WHILE C:\J2SDK_1_4_2 will be under value. Thanks.
