Employee for 1 OU

Post by turbo »

Hi all,

I am using EBS R12.

Now my system has 3 OU (A, B, C)

I create 1 employee in HRMS (People > Enter and Maintain), For example, This employee's name is Peter.
This HRMS responsibility is assigned to OU A

And I see Peter in all OU A,B, C.

I want to only see Peter in OU A. How to do this?

Please help me!
Thanks alot!

In Oracle there are two concept . one for accounting the other for HRMS as following
1- Multi -org which is financial functionality (to segregate OU for different company account).
2- Multi-BG which is HRMS functionality (to segregate the employee for different company)

Hi,
Employees are segregated in HRMS on the basis of Business Group and not on Operating Unit. Now let us know your requirement so a possible solution can be suggested. Thanks

Thanks,

If Employees are segregated in HRMS on the basis of Business Group and not on Operating Unit, it is unreasonable.
1 OU is 1 company.
The Employees of company A will be segregated from Employees of other company.

Now I want to employee only belong to 1 company and this employee is only seen by this company.

How to do this.
Please advance!

Thanks alot!

HI,

You can use Security profiles to make a profile for each Operating unit and this profile will allow only employeees in specific OU to be seen ...
then assign this security profile to the responsibility

path to follow is HRMS Manger -> Profiles for creating a security profile
and after that
system administrator -> Profile-> system to assign the security

Hope it helps!!!

Thanks for your help!

I had tried to create securiy profile and assign to responsibility . I also assign MO Operating Unit, MO Operating Unit default. But I am unsuccessful
I have:
- A HRMS responsibility is assigned securiy profile A (OU A) - Human resource
- B HRMS responsibility is assigned securiy profile B (OU B) - Human resource
- A FA responsibility is assigned securiy profile A (OU A) - Asset
- B FA responsibility is assigned securiy profile A (OU A) - Asset

OU A, OU B belong to 1 ledger.

I create employee Peter in A HRMS , John in B HRMS => in A HRMS I see both of Peter and John. In A FA, I also see both of Peter and John. And in B HRMS, B FA are too.

I want to only see Peter in A FA, John in B FA when I assign Asset

Please help me again!

Thanks alot!

while preparing the security profile you try including only operating unit A in organization type security so that only employee in OU A will be picked
I am also pasting this part of the 120hradm (part how to create a security profile)

Restricting Access by Organization:
=====================================
7. In the Organization Security tabbed region:
? To restrict by organization list, select the Secure organizations by organization
hierarchy and/or organization list option in the Security Type poplist. Select the
organizations in the Organization Name field, and choose the Include option
button.
? To restrict by organization hierarchy, select the Secure organizations by
organization hierarchy and/or organization list option. Select an organization
hierarchy, and a top organization. Select the Include Top Organization option if
you want to allow access to this organization.
If you are using user-based security, you can choose to use the organization
linked to a person's assignment as the top organization by selecting the
corresponding option. The security process identifies the organization linked to
the user's assignment when the user logs on (or when the Security List
1-50 Oracle Human Resources Management Systems Configuring, Reporting, and System Administration Guide
Maintenance process is run).
If required, you can add organizations not in the hierarchy to the list, by
selecting the organizations in the Organization Name field and choosing the
Include option button. You can also remove specific organizations from the
selected hierarchy by selecting an organization in the Organization Name field
and choosing the Exclude option button.
Note: The Secure organizations by single operating unit and Secure
organizations by operating unit and inventory organizations
options are for use by non-HRMS users, page 1-24, and have no
effect on the HRMS application.
8. By default, the Exclude Business Groups check box is unchecked, giving users
access to the business groups themselves, and therefore to employees or applicants
who have the business group(s) as their organization. Check the box to prevent
access to the business group(s) and the employees or applicants attached to them
(for example, to prevent users from seeing new starters and other employees who
have been assigned to the business group by default).

try this out

I forgot to tell one point
while applying security profile make sure that this scurity profile is at first priority so it takes over the show all deafult security profile which must have been created as a part of businnes group creation
