What is a Document Sequence?
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/A607 ... #e_Doc_Seq
From sysadmin it allows to create document sequencing for different modules while from GL module you can only define document sequence for GL.

Hi
There are two sequences maintained. One is Document sequence and the other is Accounting Sequence in R12.
Document is used to monitor running sequence to documents and we can assign different sequence to different journal category.
Accounting sequence is for accounting of document in GL. You will notice in R12 GL, under the menu sequence there are given separately i.e. Document and Accounting.
You have to set the profile option for setting Document Sequence which is important. I am attaching the screen shot which may be of helpful.
