Expense Account--Subinventory

What is the purpose of Expense Account defined at subinventory level.. at what type of transaction it is charged? Kindly help me in this regard

Expense account used when you receive item expense in your sub-inventory which defined as a not asset sub-inventory, the inventory account in this case will be expense account.
Suppose you have item ABC and you define sub-inventory XYZ as a not asset sub-inventory, so when you received this item in your sub-inventory, the inventory account will be expense account not material account.
Be inform that, any transaction related to this sub-inventory will get the expense account.
