Oracle APPS DBA responsibilities

The Oracle Apps/Core DBA is responsible for overseeing the management of all the Oracle database environment. This person will provide 24X7 emergency support and maintain corporate standards of all our Oracle databases and Oracle Applications (HR, Operations, Financials). He/she will participate in global Oracle projects and contribute to the success and stability of all
the database environments.

[font=Arial]<font color="blue"><b> *Specific Duties and Responsibilities*</b></font id="blue">

The Oracle Apps/Core DBA will be responsible for managing a broad range of activities, including but not limited to:
#149; Experience with Installation/Maintenance of Oracle ERP (11i, 11.0.3).

#149; Day to day activities for ERP: Cloning, Patching, Code Migration,
Performance Tuning, Capacity Planning, Database monitoring, User Management, Backup/Recovery Management, TAR Management, Monitoring Applications and its services.

#149; Responsible for the overall database administration, monitoring and
control all of the organization's enterprise databases (Oracle & SQL).

#149; Responsible for the creation, configuration, upgrade, backup,
tuning, capacity planning & administration of multiple Oracle (8i/9i/10g)
databases.

#149; Act as liaison to Oracle ERP and other internal
applications teams.

#149; Administer and maintain Oracle 8i, 9i and 10g on Solaris and Linux
and SQL Server on Windows.

#149; Strong hands-on experience with scripting on SUN, HP, Linux using
shell, perl.

#149; Responsible for providing database consultancy to internal groups in
support of various applications (logical design, physical design, failover,
etc.).

#149; Responsible for the day-to-day effective technical performance of
the physical DBMS, including taking necessary action to improve performance
and initiate recovery activities when system failure occurs.

#149; Responsible for database backup and recovery procedures to ensure
the integrity of disaster recovery process using SQLBackTrack, Legato
Networker, RMAN.

#149; Database Administration, tuning and support for the enterprise
databases and systems.

#149; Maintain documentation and contribute to the ongoing development of
new standards.

#149; Ensure that the proper disaster recovery procedures are in place and
adhered to.

#149; Responsible for contribution and adherence to standards that ensure
the integrity and security of the enterprise's data resources.

#149; Responsible for providing backend support for the development,
testing and acceptance environments for Oracle ERP and new projects relying on Oracle or SQL.

#149; Undertakes the technical evaluation of new or prospective Oracle and
SQL implementations.

#149; Perform database upgrades from Oracle 8.x/9.x to 10g.
