how to convert on application server

hi every body
I am facing with a problem. we are using oracle 6i now we want to switch
on oracle 10. and i m new in this oraganization i done work in 10g
devsuitehome 9.0.4 but i
use it for browser. and i have no experience on application server and we
want to switch on application server because we have 300 plus users. i
need any clue or guide line for
application server configuration on window or Linux
